Senior System Administrator

What will be your role

To take over all aspects of configuration and maintenance of computer systems, networks, application software and data security. To handle daily challenges by coming up with creative solutions. A candidate who is up to date with his/her knowledge of hardware and software trends and advancements. He/she will be part of the IT team and will be expected to collaborate with the team to ensure quick resolution and all-round support.

The system administrator will create file systems and manage network communication, apart from taking care of the data backup and recovery. Administrative tasks related to user accounts, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, along with technical support and troubleshooting will be part of the role. He/she is expected to do thorough research on upcoming products, service protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts. Solid understanding with working knowledge of complete systems development and deployment lifecycle and all facets of systems administration in a medium to large scale IT operations unit will be necessary.
 

Your day at Soliton

Technology & Support

      • LDAP and AD sync issues for the users.
      • Manage VM and Hyper V.
      • Check & maintain biometric attendance machines, network switches, CCTV cameras.
      • VPN – Setup and configure VPN portals for the clients and troubleshooting.
      • Maintain IT peripheral devices like printers, projectors, telephones, audio devices and resolve associated problems.
      • Azure Virtual Desktop – Setup and configure Azure WVD.
      • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks, manage the local file servers (Quota management, File sharing, DFS replications & Housekeeping of servers).
      • Facilitate service desk requests, field inquiries/problems and provide updates to users on progress and completion of requests.

    Process

      • Implement policies/standards and deliver according to ITIL/ITSM Service disciplines, covering Incident, Problem and Change Management.
      • Work closely with the team leader and other specialists to ensure a timely, robust, and comprehensive service process.
      • Ensure Windows patches are up to date on all workstations and Servers.
      • Maintain the status of all support contracts and license renewals.
      • Mentor/cross train team members on existing and new technologies.
      • Ensure compliance with ISO process, documentation, and follow-up with respect to IT, Admin and Facilities.
      • Notify customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages, and remediation status.
      • Participate in Business Continuity Planning and Exercises as needed.

    O365/M365

      • Intune policy setup, configuration at advanced level.
      • Troubleshoot issues related to SharePoint and folder permissions.
      • Configure and troubleshoot Group Policies and Replication issues.

    Vendor Management & Purchase

      • Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation.
      • Co-ordinate events and a part of admin activities like AC, Electrical installation, supervision and maintenance.
      • Take appropriate measures to control costs, ensure excellent service delivery and derive value during procurement of IT assets.
      • Create, maintain, update the IT assets (Hardware and Software licenses) inventory.

     

    Knowledge & Skill Requirements

      • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
      • Experience in Azure with good understanding of Azure active directory and Office365.
      • Experience in managing Sophos Firewall.
      • Hands-on experience with network devices such as Switches, Routers, Firewall, etc.
      • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
      • Good knowledge of Windows server 2012/2016/2019.
      • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
      • Identify control gaps and support remediation of findings.
      • Ability to contribute to internal ISO 27001 assessments.
      • Experience in DLP, Web Filtering, Anti-Virus, firewall, IPS, VAPT Tools, End point security, Privacy Assessment etc.
      • Good vendor co-ordination skills and ability to maintain the company records related to IT infrastructure.
      • Should be able to accommodate late work hours and/or extra schedules, even as we follow nine-hour days, five-day weeks and operate only in the day shift.

    Job Location

      • Coimbatore is the work location. Flexible to travel to Bangalore/Chennai in case of business requirements.
